Victor Wanyama set to reject Southampton extension

Kenyan international Victor Wanyama looks set to rebuff a contract extension with Southampton, according to reports.

The 24-year-old had been constantly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the transfer window, but the Saints insisted that they would not listen to any offers for their star performer.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman left out the midfield enforcer during his side's 3-0 win over Norwich City citing that the player was not in the right frame of mind to participate.

According to The Mail, the former Celtic star is ready to reject a new contract as he seeks to make a move away from the South Coast in the New Year.

Wanyama has two years left on his existing deal at Southampton.
