Arsenal line up January bid for Mauro Icardi

Arsenal will reportedly lodge an offer for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

The 22-year-old was associated with a switch to the Gunners over the summer, but a deal failed to materialise.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, manager Arsene Wenger will look to strengthen his forward line by launching a January bid for the Argentina international.

The Gunners are currently second in the league standings following their 2-0 win over Stoke City at the Emirates.
