Real Madrid ready new deal for Keylor Navas

Navas to earn new Real contract

Real Madrid have promised to offer a contract extension to Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas, according to reports.

Navas had been strongly linked with a deadline day transfer to Manchester United in a deal which would have seen David de Gea move in the other direction.

However, things failed to pan out as planned and the deal fell through due to delayed submission of necessary paperwork.

De Gea has since then gone on to sign a new four-year contract with the Mancunian giants, thereby nullifying Real's chances of landing the goalkeeper in the future.

Spanish publication Marca now cites that Los Blancos chairman Florentino Perez will reward Navas with a new contract for the way he coped with the uncertainty over his future.

The 28-year-old is the club's undisputed number one following the departure of legendary shot-stopper Iker Casillas to FC Porto over the summer.
