Liverpool blocked Ashley Williams move

Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was denied the chance to sign Swansea City defender Ashley Williams, according to reports.
The Welsh international has been a consistent performer in the Premier League in recent seasons, and this has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
According to The Mail, Rodgers was eager to bring the experienced defender to Merseyside over the summer, but the move was nullified by the Reds' transfer committee.
Williams is the club's longest serving player having joined them from semi-professional side Stockport County back in 2008.
