William Carvalho to extend Sporting stay?

Chelsea and Arsenal target William Carvalho could be soon signing a new contract at Sporting Lisbon.

The Portugal international has been long linked with a move to the Premier League, and it could have happened over the summer, had he not suffered a knee injury.

However, A Bola now Sporting have begun talks with Carvalho over a new deal as they look to sway away interest from his suitors.

The report adds that the Primeira Liga side are ready to increase his salary significantly to keep him at the club for a longer term.

Carvalho was named the player of the tournament during the European Under 21 Championships in the summer.
