Aston Villa plot move for Loris Karius
Aston Villa are readying a winter offer for Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius, The Telegraph claims.
Villa boss Tim Sherwood is thought to keen on signing a new shot-stopper in the New Year as he seeks to provide competition to Brad Guzan, who has let in thirteen goals in eight league games this term.
Karius was part of Manchester City's youth setup, but made his move to Bundesliga following his failure to break into the first-team.
The 22-year-old has since then racked up over 80 appearances for Mainz in all competitions, and remains a key player in their starting line-up.
According to The Telegraph, the Villains will look to lure the young goalkeeper back to England once the transfer window resumes in early 2016.
Villa are currently 18th in the league standings.
