The 27-year-old was highly influential for Gent last season as they won their first domestic title in their 115-year history.

According to The People, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sent scouts to watch the talented striker in action this weekend thus giving a clear indication on the club's interest in the player's services.

Depoitre scored 14 goals for his club last season, and this earned him a debut call-up to the Belgian national side earlier this month.
