Jose Mourinho given 'one-week' deadline

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is understood to have offered manager Jose Mourinho one more week to save his job at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese coach has been blamed for the Blues' dismal start to the campaign, which sees them 14 points off the summit.

Recent reports had cited that Mourinho could make way after his side's 3-1 thumping at the hands of Liverpool.

However, The Sun reports that the 52-year-old has been given a one-week deadline by Abramovich to shift the club's focus in the right direction.

Chelsea are currently 15th in the league standings with just 11 points.
