Arouna Kone earns new Everton contract
Everton's hat-trick hero Arouna Kone has penned a new one-year contract at Goodison Park.
The Ivory Coast international joined the Toffees in 2013 following the appointment of Roberto Martinez as manager.
He has since then struggled with a number of injuries and this has limited his game-time with the first-team.
However, the 31-year-old has shown promise this season and his hat-trick in the 6-2 thumping of Sunderland proved that he has more to offer to the Merseyside outfit.
The Toffees have now extended the player's contract by a further year after they activated a clause in his contract.
Kone has scored five goals in 11 league appearances this season.
