Arsenal close in on PATO signing?

Arsenal have held crunch talks with Corinthians over a proposed deal for Brazilian star Alexandre Pato.

The former AC Milan striker has rejuvenated his career in his home nation and this has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.

Corinthians' director of football Edu Gaspar has now revealed that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had enquired on some of the club's top talents including Pato.

The 26-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan at Sao Paolo, where he has amassed an impressive tally of 38 goals in all competitions.

Pato joined the Brazilian giants from AC Milan for £10.5m in 2013.
