Mohamed Elneny passes Arsenal medical
Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny has had a successful medical ahead of his proposed switch to Arsenal.
The Egypt international was said to have travelled to the English capital after Basel agreed on a £7.2m fee for his transfer.
Elneny has since then undergone a series of medical tests and agreed on personal terms with the North London outfit.
However, the Gunners face a stumbling block to acquire the player's work permit as his nation have fallen below the top 50 in the FIFA rankings.
It is added that Arsene Wenger's side are likely to make an appeal and it could take a couple more days to officially announce the transfer.
Elneny has scored four goals in 20 games for Basel this season.
