Chelsea readying Thiago Silva bid

Chelsea are said to be lining up a mega-bid for Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva.

The Blues have been tipped to sign a new centre-back this month as they seek to improve on their league position during the second half of the campaign.

Italian source Tuttomercato claims that the Premier League holders are expected to drop their interest in Everton star John Stones.

The report adds that the Blues have earmarked Brazilian centre-back Silva as an alternate option to boost their defensive setup.

Silva has made 27 appearances in all competitions for Les Parisiens this season.
