Vermaelen eyeing England return

Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen is considering a move back to the Premier League in the summer.

The Belgian international joined the Catalan giants from Arsenal in the summer of 2014, and has since then struggled with injuries.

Vermaelen is currently behind the likes of Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano for the central defensive role, and according to Fichajes, a move to England could be in the offing this summer.

Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be in the running to sign the former Gunners skipper.

The talented centre-back has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Barca this term.
