Guardiola wants Gündogan at Man City

Corriere dello Sport have today reported that Manchester City are close to agreeing a deal to sign Ilkay Gündogan in the summer.

The Italian publication claims that Pep Guardiola wants to make the German midfielder one of his first signings at City, with a fee of €35m being mooted, and wages of £90,000 per week.

Gündogan, 25, has been in outstanding form for Dortmund this season, finally back to his best after injuries blighted his previous two campaigns with the German club.

Juventus are said to be interested in signing the gifted playmaker, but fear they cannot compete with the Premier League club's financial might. City may have also stolen a march on rivals Manchester United too, as Sky Sports reported as far back as last April that United had agreed to sign the midfielder.
