Keylor Navas to Arsenal?

Navas linked with Gunners switch

Arsenal are said to be eyeing a summer deal for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylos Navas, according to reports.

The Costa Rican international had been tipped to join Manchester United in the player-plus-cash exchange deal for David de Gea last summer.

However, the clubs failed to submit the necessary paperwork in time, and this ceased the proposed transfer. Since then, De Gea has signed a long-term deal at Old Trafford whilst Navas has been the top performer for the Bernabeu giants for much of the campaign.

Spanish source Don Balon claims that Real Madrid could offload Navas, should they get hold of top target De Gea this summer.

The report adds that the 27-year-old could be on his way to the Premier League with Liverpool and Arsenal said to be interested in his services.

Arsene Wenger's side are known to be eyeing an effective back-up to Petr Cech with David Ospina likely to make way from the Emirates at the end of the season.

It is yet to be known whether Navas would favour a switch to a club where he would face stiff competition for the number one role.
