Chelsea still in for John Stones
Chelsea are confident of beating league rivals Manchester City to the services of Everton defender John Stones. The England international had been the subject of multiple bids from the Blues last summer, but the Toffees stood firm in their desire to keep hold of their star asset.
Stones has since then put up a good showing in the Premier League, thus leading to claims that he may seek a fresh club at the end of the season.
Manchester City have been strongly linked with a move for Stones with incoming boss Pep Guardiola keen on strengthening his backline, but according to The Mirror, the Blues will do what it takes to bring the 21-year-old to Stamford Bridge next season.
Stones, who is currently valued at £40m, has made 28 appearances in all competitions for Everton this term.
