United face battle to keep De Gea

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid will reportedly go head-to-head in the race to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea in the summer.

The Spain international was believed to be on his way to the Bernabeu last summer with Costa Rican shot-stopper Keylor Navas moving the other way.

However, the clubs failed to submit the necessary paperwork before the Spanish transfer deadline, and this put an end to the proposed deal.

Since then, De Gea has signed a long-term deal with the Mancunian giants whilst Navas has earned plaudits for his impressive showing at the Spanish capital.

According to The Mirror, Les Parisiens have identified the 24-year-old as their primary target for the summer, but will face stiff competition from Los Blancos, who are expected to return with a fresh bid for the Spaniard.

De Gea has been the stand-out performer for the Red Devils in what has until now been a below-par season in the Premier League.
