Alex Iwobi to earn new Arsenal deal

Arsenal are set to offer an improved contract to Alex Iwobi following his impressive showing in the first-team this season.

Iwobi has gone from step to step this campaign, and currently finds himself in the running for a regular starting role in the Premier League.

A report from The Mirror states that the Gunners hierarchy were impressed by the player's display at Everton last weekend, where he scored his first ever Premier League goal for the club.

It is added that the 19-year-old is set to be rewarded for his efforts with the club willing to improve his weekly pay from a mere £800 to £10,000.

Iwobi is the nephew of former Nigerian legend Jay-Jay Okocha.
