Fener eye Schweinsteiger move

Turkish giants Fenerbahce are said to be eyeing a surprise bid for Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. The German international linked up with the Red Devils last summer after having spent almost 17 years with Bayern Munich.

However, his spell at Old Trafford has been unconvincing with injuries and fitness hampering his chances of making a regular impact in the first-team.

According to AMK, United are willing to offload Schweinsteiger for a fee of around £5m after he failed to replicate his showing at the Bavarian outfit.

The report goes on to state that Fener are heading the queue of European clubs, vying for the player's signature.

United signed the World Cup winner from Bayern for £6.5m.
