Merseyside duo eye Lacazette

Liverpool and Everton are set to go head-to-head in the pursuit of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette. The France international had been heavily tipped for a Premier League move last summer before he penned a long-term deal at Les Gones.

Lacazette has since then struggled to keep up his form, and this has led to suggestions that he could be sold at the end of the season.

According to The People, the Reds and Toffees could battle it out for the Frenchman's services with both set to lose forwards at the end of the campaign.

Liverpool are rumoured to be considering the future of Christian Benteke, whilst Everton face a tussle to keep hold of in-form Romelu Lukaku.

Lacazette, who is currently valued at £30m, had been the subject of interest from league strugglers Newcastle United in January.
