Chelsea plan striker swap

Diego Costa news

Cavani could be joining Chelsea in the summer.

Chelsea are planning to offload under performing striker Diego Costa, and bring in 29-year-old Edison Cavani.

After scoring 20 goals in a fantastic first season, he has struggled this year and Chelsea are looking to cash in. The 27 year old has nowhere near matched the standards he set last year, but has still managed to score 11 league goals. showing that there is still some quality in him. His discipline though is still causing problems. He has picked up 11 yellow and 1 red card, and appeared to bite Evertons Gareth Barry. PSG are reportedly interested in the Spanish international and are favorites to make a bid.

If Chelsea sell Costa they will need to sign a replacement and they are looking at PSG's unsettled striker Edison Cavani. Cavani has struggled to find his best form at PSG, however has often been played out of position on the right hand side. After contract talks have supposedly stalled Chelsea are ready to sign the 29 year old. If PSG sign Costa it will mean that Cavani would not be the first choice striker, which makes a move to Chelsea even more possible.
