Real Madrid, Barcelona target Payet

Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have expressed interest in signing in-form West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet.

The 29-year-old linked up with the Hammers over the summer following an excellent stint with Marseille in the French league.

Payet has since then put up a great show in the Premier League and this has earned him plaudits from the club's faithful.

Spanish sources suggest that Real and Barca have had a close eye on the player's progress and could battle it out for his signature in the summer.

However, the duo would have to come up with a substantial offer given the player recently signed a new five-year contract with the East London side.

Hammers currently rate Payet at around £45m.
