The African Nations will commence on the Sunday 20th of January. The setting will be Ghana.

Sixteen teams with world-class players such as Ghana midfielder Michael Essien, Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba and Cameroon forward striker Samuel Eto'o are set to illuminate the continent's football showpiece.

The African Nations popularity has increased massively over the last decade due to the influx of African players gracing the European leagues.

"The Nations Cup is special," said Desailly who was himself born in Ghana.

"It's going to be a huge tournament in terms of quality but with football in Africa you see colours, you see dance and you see people going crazy."

Many premiership scouts will be on high alert to spot potentially new talents that will be present at the tournament.
