Chelsea free to sign Mario Gotze

Bayern Munich are open to the sale of German midfielder Mario Gotze during the summer transfer window. The World Cup winner is not in the plans of Carlo Ancelotti for next season.

Gotze has struggled to attain a regular role in the first-team mainly due to his injury problems over the season.

The Sun says the 23-year-old is likely to be offloaded over the summer with soon-to-be boss Ancelotti not considering the player in high regard.

It is added that Chelsea have began negotiations for the talented attacker, who could be available for a fee of around £35m.

League rivals Liverpool are also in the running to sign the former Borussia Dortmund graduate.
