Chelsea can have Mammana for £8m

Chelsea are reportedly leading the chase to sign highly-rated River Plate youngster Emanuel Mammana this summer. The 20-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after his agent was spotted in London holding negotiations with the Blues' hierarchy.

The Argentina international has captured the eye of several clubs in Europe after it was revealed that he has a £11m release clause in his contract.

However, according to Goal, River are prepared to accept a sum of around £8m from the Blues to allow their graduate realise his dream of playing in the Premier League next season.

Italian duo Inter Milan and Fiorentina have also made contact for the player, who can play across the defence.

Mammana would be a welcome addition to the Blues' setup with centre-back Kurt Zouma likely to miss the start of next season after suffering a nasty knee injury.
