Sunderland table Diafra Sakho bid
Sunderland are understood to have lodged a formal offer to sign West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho this summer. The Senegalese international endured a tough second season with the Hammers.
Black Cats manager Sam Allardyce is eager to bolster his forward ranks after the club just about managed to beat the drop last season.
Sky Sports News says Sakho has been identified as the player to fill the void, and the club have tabled a £11m to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window.
Sakho was brought into the West Ham setup from French side Metz during Allardyce's reign in 2014.
Injuries and loss of form played a part in the striker's failure to cement a regular starting berth last term.
