Man Utd in Breel Embolo talks

Manchester United have opened up negotiations to sign Basel striker Breel Embolo despite concrete interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The youngster is regarded as one of the best upcoming talents from Switzerland.

Embolo, 19, had been strongly tipped to join Spurs in January, before his side opted to keep hold of his services for the remainder of the campaign.

According to Swiss daily 20 Minuten, the Red Devils have made an enquiry over the player's availability with a view to landing his signature over the summer.

Nevertheless, Spurs remain favourites to land the exciting teenager with manager Mauricio Pochettino having been in constant contact with the player's entourage.

Embolo netted 12 goals in 35 appearances for the Super League champions last season.
