Man Utd ready record bid for Gareth Bale

Manchester United are prepared to lodge a record fee to bring Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale back to the Premier League this summer. The Wales international is currently the world's most expensive signing having joined Los Blancos from Tottenham Hotspur for €100m in 2013.

Bale, 26, is eager to make a return to England after three successful years at the Bernabeu that has seen him lift the Club World Cup, Super Cup, Copa del Rey and two prestigious Champions League crowns.

Spanish publication El Confidencial says the Red Devils are well aware of the player's interest and will look to table a world-record bid of around €120m to test Real's resolve in the transfer window.

However, any move will be dependent on how the club proceed on other recruits given the 'Special One' has a €250m kitty to freshen up his squad over the summer.

The Welshman made just 30 appearances for Real last term as he struggled with a series of injuries.
