Arsenal consider Edinson Cavani move

Arsenal will shift their focus to Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, should they fail to get a deal done for top target Jamie Vardy. 

The Gunners were said to be close to securing the services of Vardy from Leicester City last week after they triggered the £20m release clause in his contract.

But the England international has since ignored talks with the North London outfit, leading to suggestions that he may pen a new extension at the King Power Stadium.

According to The Express, the Gunners are well aware of the present situation, and could step up their pursuit for Cavani over the summer.

Cavani, 29, is eager to seal a fresh move over the summer despite being guaranteed the centre-forward position at Parc des Princes.
