Valencia reject Chelsea bid for Andre Gomes

Chelsea have failed with a summer offer for Valencia playmaker Andre Gomes. The Portugal international has caught the eye of top European clubs on the back of his performances over the past year.

Sky Sports News says the Blues had tabled a sum of around £32m for the youngster with new boss Antonio Conte eager to freshen up his midfield over the summer.

However, the bid was swiftly rebuffed with Los Che wanting to recoup at least £42m for the 22-year-old, whose former club Benfica are owed 25 percent of any future sale.

Gomes created the assist for Nani's goal during Portugal's 1-1 draw against Iceland in the Euro 2016 group stages.
