Chelsea confirm Michy Batshuayi arrival
Chelsea have announced the signing of Belgian international Michy Batshuayi from Marseille. The striker has put pen to paper on a five-year contract after the Blues finalized a £33.2m fee for his transfer.
The Blues firmed their interest in the player earlier last week as they outbid the likes of Crystal Palace and West Ham United to his services.
"I am delighted to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe and embark on the next chapter in my career. I hope I can help Chelsea win many trophies during my time at Stamford Bridge," he told the club's official website.
The youngster was previously a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur before Les Phoceens' valuation went well beyond their expectations.
Batshuayi, 22, played a key role in Marseille's battle against relegation last term as he netted 17 goals in 36 outings. He was also part of the Belgian side who lost out to Wales in the quarter-final stage of Euro 2016.
