Man Utd officials meeting Juventus today to seal Pogba deal

Pogba deal could be reached today

Mancheter United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is due to meet with Juventus officials today, with the aim of finalising an agreement that would see Paul Pogba return to Old Trafford, potentially becoming the most expensive footballer in history, according to reports in Italy.

Multiple sources in Italy, including Sky Italia and transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, reported last night that United had tabled a bid of €100 million for the 23-year-old Frenchman which was rejected by Juventus.

Many reports stated, however, that Pogba has made clear his wish to rejoin the Red Devils, and Juventus would be reluctantly willing to let their star man leave if they receive an offer of €120 million.

And more talks between the two clubs have been scheduled for today, with United expected to meet the Bianconeri's demands.

Pogba left Old Trafford as a teenager in 2012, having grown frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities he had been afforded by the United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The gifted Frenchman joined Juventus on a free transfer, where he has gone on to win four Serie A titles, as well as reaching the 2015 Champions League final.

United are thought to have always held a casual interest in bringing Pogba back to the club, but were put off by the prospect of breaking the bank to re-sign a former player.

But that no longer appears to be the case, as new manager José Mourinho is set to land his number one target.
