United closing in on Pogba

Manchester United have agreed a fee with Juventus for Paul Pogba, as well as agreeing the sum due to the player's agent, with only the payment structure left to be decided, according to reports in Italy.

La Stampa is reporting that Manchester United have upped their offer to Juventus to €115 million, from the €110 million previously offered.

€100 million of that sum will go directly to Juventus, with €15 million being paid to Pogba's agent Mino Raiola.

La Stampa claims that all that remains to be agreed upon is how the payments are made, and that a deal could soon be reached to take the 23-year-old French midfielder back to the club he left in 2012.

In a saga that has been running for some time now, United have been pursuing Pogba at the request of new manager José Mourinho.

Mourinho has said he identified four key areas of the squad that needed strengthening, and pin pointed the players he desired to fill those roles.

Three of his primary targets have already been brought in, with the arrivals of defender Eric Bailly for €40 million from Villarreal, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer after his contract with Paris Saint Germain expired, and playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund for a fee believed to be around €38 million.

Now United have put their full focus into acquiring Pogba from Juventus, in what could be a world record breaking deal.
