Everton still keen on Juan Mata
Everton are hopeful of landing Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata before the transfer window closes on August 31. The Spaniard would consider leaving Old Trafford for regular playing time next season.
Mata, 28, has become a fans' favourite at the Red Devils since his move from Chelsea in January 2014.
But, with the appointment of Jose Mourinho, his chances are likely to be limited, with the 'Special One' having previously offloaded him from the Blues for his poor work rate.
The Times says the Toffees are keeping tabs on Mata's situation, and could come up with an offer for his services this month.
Former club Valencia are also in the running to sign the playmaker, who has appeared in over 100 games for United till date.
Mata failed to make the Spain squad for Euro 2016 due to poor showing in the back-end of the previous campaign.
