Crystal Palace target Andy Carroll
Crystal Palace are lining up a bid for West Ham United striker Andy Carroll. The Eagles have shifted their focus to the Englishman after they failed in their attempts to sign Liverpool flop Christian Benteke.
According to The Express, the Eagles are preparing an ambitious raid for Carroll after it became evident that Benteke would not be available on the cheap.
Liverpool currently value Benteke at £32.5m, and this is well beyond Palace's budget for a marksman this summer.
Slaven Bilic's side are unlikely to offload Carroll over the transfer window, but the Eagles are hopeful of making an offer which would test the Hammers' resolve.
Carroll was in good form for his club during the back end of last season, and this has led to suggestions that he could earn an England recall from Sam Allardyce.
