Spurs chasing Garay

Tottenham are reportedly ready to sign the Argentinian defender Ezekiel Garay. The Liverpool target has reportedly been told the Reds are no longer interested in his services, but now Juande Ramos is ready to move for the youngster.

Kop boss Rafa Benitez has been tracking Garay for months but Ramos hopes to cash in on the turbulent times at Anfield and complete a dramatic swoop.

Garay is a set-piece wizard and scored nine goals last season from deadball moves.

Ramos has improved Spurs’ defending in recent weeks but the club has still conceded 21 goals at home in the league — the worst record, along with Fulham — in the top flight.
