Man Utd to announce their fifth signing of the transfer window

Manchester United are apparently in pole position to secure the services of Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa. The youngster is regarded as one of the finest talents to have come out of Brazil.

Barbosa, still 19, has emerged as a top prospect for Santos since former graduate Neymar left for Barcelona in 2013.

The Sun says the Red Devils have outbid their rivals to the teenager's signature and are set to confirm his signing in the next 48 hours.

United will pay an initial £26m for the player, who has been tipped to reach the heights of fellow countrymate Neymar.

Barbosa, nicknamed as Gabigol, is likely to play back-up to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who joined on a Bosman earlier this summer. He is currently featuring for Brazil at the Rio Olympics.
