Shkodran Mustafi available for Southampton clash
Arsenal have confirmed that summer arrival Shkodran Mustafi will be fit for next weekend's Premier League fixture against Southampton. The 24-year-old was deemed doubtful earlier this week after he picked up a knock on international duty.
The centre-half was seen clutching his ankle during Germany's 2-0 win over Finland, which happens to be Bastian Schweinsteiger's final ever game for the World champions.
However, the injury does not seem to be serious, and the Gunners are confident that the player will be up to full fitness when they host the Saints at the Emirates on September 10.
Mustafi's transfer to Arsenal looked to be heading to a standstill at one stage before the Gunners negotiated a £35m sum with Valencia to get through the deal.
The defender will provide the much-needed boost in the heart of the defence which has seen the likes of Gabriel and Per Mertesacker being ruled out with long-term injuries.
