Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has emerged as a transfer target for Palermo. The Bulgarian footballer is available on a Bosman after he was released from Greek side PAOK in June.
The 35-year-old has decided to prolong his professional career, and this is said to have caught the eye of Palermo, who are in need of attacking reinforcements for the ongoing campaign.
According to Tuttopalermo.net, the Rosanero are among the leading names vying for the veteran's signature after it emerged that he would fancy a final stint in the beautiful game.
The 35-year-old, who started off with CSKA Sofia, has represented the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Tottenham, Manchester United, Fulham, AS Monaco and PAOK in an illustrious career. 
He is most fondly remembered for his spell at Old Trafford between 2008 and 2012 where he won two Premier League titles.
