Lucas Digne snubbed Liverpool for Barcelona
France international Lucas Digne is known to have turned down an approach from Liverpool to join Barcelona this summer.
The 22-year-old inked a five-year deal with the Catalan giants after they settled an initial £13.8m sum with Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.
Spanish source Fichajes says the Reds were on hot on the trail of the young full-back with Jurgen Klopp looking for a replacement for the inconsistent Alberto Moreno.
However, Digne chose to link up with the Spanish champions as they would offer him Champions League football something which the Reds would struggle to obtain on a regular basis.
The left-back, who came through the youth system at Lille, spent three seasons at Parc des Princes. He was loaned out to AS Roma during the previous campaign.
