Dugarry has harsh words for Ibrahimovic and Mourinho

Manchester United striker has been labelled a “cone” by former Barcelona and Birmingham City player Christophe Dugarry on French radio.

Speaking on French radio station RMC, Dugarry criticised Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s mobility, claiming the Manchester United forward stands still and is like “a cone” on the field. He claimed that, despite Ibrahimovic’s fine goal scoring record, his contribution is not enough as Premier League games move at “2,000 kilometers an hour”.

The veteran Swedish striker has bagged four goals in his first five Premier League games this season, following his free transfer from French champions Paris Saint Germain, but he has been unable to prevent the Red Devils losing their last three games.

Dugarry also had some harsh words for United boss Jose Mourinho, saying that he is of the opinion that Mourinho’s last real tactical masterwork came in Inter Milan’s Champions League semi final victory over Barcelona in the 2009-10 season.

United’s three successive defeats is the first time that Mourinho has lost three games on the bounce since he was in charge of FC Porto fourteen years ago in 2002.

Mourinho will be hoping his side can rediscover their winning touch when they travel to take on Northampton Town in the third round of the EFL Cup tomorrow night.

After that, the Red Devils will host Premier League champions Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
