PSG consider January move for Bacca

The French champions are looking for attacking reinforcements

French champions Paris Saint Germain are considering a January move for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca, according to reports in Italy.

Tuttosport is reporting that Paris Saint Germain could be set to make a swoop for AC Milan’s Colombian striker Carlos Bacca in January, as the French champions look to boost their attacking options after a shaky start to the season under new manager Unai Emery.

Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani is currently leading the line for the Parisians, and is the joint top scorer in Ligue 1 with six goals from six games so far this season.

But the former Napoli and Palermo forward has come in for widespread criticism after missing a series of guilt edged chances in high profile games already this term.

The 29-year-old scored in the opening minute of PSG’s first Champions League fixture of the season against Arsenal at the Parc des Princes two weeks ago.

But he also missed several chances later on in the game, and the Gunners ended up rescuing a point from a match which should have been beyond their reach, had Cavani not been so profligate in front of goal.

PSG’s new coach Unai Emery has experienced a tough start to life in France, having already suffered defeat twice in the opening six games. And it now appears that the former Valencia and Sevilla coach is ready to turn to the transfer market to bolster his squad.

The Spanish coach previously worked with Bacca at Sevilla, and the 29-year-old Colombian is the type of expert poacher who will convert the vast majority of chances should he make the move to Paris.
