Pepe extends Real stay

Portugal international Pepe has agreed to commit his future to Real Madrid on a fresh one-year contract.

The Euro 2016 winner had been in negotiations over an extension at Los Blancos with his previous deal due to expire at the end of the campaign.

El Larquero reports that the centre-half has sorted out his situation after he finalized a new contract which will see him remain at the Bernabeu until June 2018.

Fellow teammate Toni Kroos inked a six-year bumper contract earlier in the week, whilst the likes of Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are all set to earn improved contracts with the European champions.

Pepe has been monumental to Los Blancos' Champions League success in recent seasons. He has appeared in over 300 games for Real Madrid since arriving from Porto in 2007.
