Mkhitaryan snubbed Arsenal for Man Utd
Armenian winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan reportedly snubbed a move to the Emirates in order to pursue his career with Manchester United. The 27-year-old has struggled to earn sufficient playing time during the ongoing campaign.
Mkhitaryan came through an excellent season with Borussia Dortmund last term where he bagged 19 goals and 24 assists in all competitions.
According to The Mail, the winger choose Manchester United over Arsenal in the summer as he felt there was more competition for places at the North London outfit.
However, his time at Old Trafford has not gone as planned with Jose Mourinho reluctant to place him in the matchday squad for recent games.
The Special One feels the player lacks the necessary physique to feature in the Premier League, and it would take some time before he integrates into the first-team setup.
Mkhitaryan has not appeared for Manchester United since the 2-1 derby defeat to Manchester City on September 10.
