Man Utd to sell Rooney in the summer

Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney will be shown the exit door at the end of the current campaign. The England international has seen a downslide in his career this season.

Rooney, 31, was a regular from the substitutes' bench over the past month before he was recalled for the 3-1 win at Swansea City, where he proved his worth with two assists.

According to The Express, Mourinho will seek to reshape his frontline in the summer of 2017, and this could see Rooney make his way from Old Trafford.

The Special One is likely to command a transfer sum for the veteran striker as he bids to bring a youthful replacement preferably Antoine Griezmann to Manchester next season.

Rooney is just three goals shy of breaking Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time scoring record (249) for Manchester United.
