Lafont wanted by Arsenal

Arsenal have set their sights on signing Toulouse young goalkeeper Alban Lafont as an eventual replacement for goalkeeper Petr Cech. The Burkina Faso born shot stopper has been in inspired form for the Ligue 1 side so far this season, catching the eye of Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal are busy scouring Europe to find the perfect replacement for Petr Cech, who is expected to hand over the number 1 jersey at the end of the 2017-18 season. Arsenal already have plenty of potential in their goalkeeping ranks but Arsene Wenger is stunned with what he has seen of the young 17-year-old Lafont at Toulouse, and is ready to pay the reported 15 million euro asking fee in the January transfer window or potentially next summer.

Lafont is considered one of the brightest young keepers in the world alongside AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, and has been an ever present so far this campaign for Toulouse as well as appearing 24 times in Ligue 1 in 2015-16.
