Liverpool, Spurs join Hernandez chase

Premier League duo Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur could vie for the services of Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez in January. The Mexico international joined the German side from Manchester United in 2015.
Hernandez, 28, had a fine debut campaign in the Bundesliga last term as his 17 goals guided Leverkusen to a third place finish in the league.
The current season has not been much friendly to Hernandez, and despite his 12-game goal drought, there is interest from several clubs due to his showing last term.
According to The Mirror, both the Reds and Spurs are lining up potential bids for the forward amid the rumoured interest from Valencia.
Valencia are said to be willing to match the player's £33.5m buy-out clause, and this could well put the English pair out of the chase.
Hernandez has netted 33 goals in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen since he was forced out of Old Trafford by former boss Louis van Gaal.
