Man Utd open up talks for Franck Kessie
Manchester United have reportedly opened up discussions with Atalanta BC for midfielder Franck Kessie. The 20-year-old is currently with Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations.
Kessie has attracted interest from numerous clubs this season after registering seven goals and two assists in all competitions for his side.
According to Sky Sports News, the Ivorian footballer is the subject of transfer interest from Manchester United, who are hopeful of securing a pre-contract for his services.
The Italian club have previously snubbed a £15m offer from Everton this month, and United would have to come up with a package in excess of £30m if they are to pursue the midfielder's signature in the summer.
League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool are also keen on the midfield anchorman with the latter having sent scouts to keep a close watch on the player at AFCON.
