Chelsea plan to trigger release clause of £86m-rated forward
Premier League toppers Chelsea are planning to activate the release clause of Yannick Ferreira Carrasco at the end of the season. The Atletico Madrid winger is unhappy with his reduced playing time under Diego Simeone this season.
Carassco, 23, has been often substituted after the hour mark by Simeone, and this has sort of created a distance between the coach and the player.
According to Calciomercato, the West London giants are seemingly confident of signing the Belgian ace, who had only inked a fresh deal in October 2016.
Atleti managed to insert a £86m escape clause in his contract, and the Blues will have to break their transfer record by some margin in order to land the talented attacker.
Former Blues striker Fernando Torres - now at Atletico, is the club's record buy having joined from Liverpool in the winter of 2011.
