Cristiano Ronaldo news

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez plans to sell superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo to China, before the start of the 2018-19 season, so as to earn a lucrative amount from the transfer.

Though Ronaldo recently signed a long term contract with the Spanish giants, Perez is keen to make some money off him, before he becomes a free agent, at the end of his current contract.

Ronaldo joined Madrid in 2009, on a then world record transfer fee of £80 million from Manchester United.

During his 7 year stay at the club, Ronaldo has won every trophy on offer, while also becoming the club’s all -time leading goal scorer, in the process. Ronaldo is currently coming off the back of an incredible year in 2016, wherein he won the Champions League with Real Madrid and also the European Championships with his national side, Portugal.

Ronaldo also recently picked up the Balon d’ Or and Best Player in Europe award for his contributions to his club and country’s success last season. Given that Ronaldo has previously expressed his desire to play until the age of 40; his current contract will certainly not be last one.

Finally, although Perez plans to sell Ronaldo to a Chinese club he’s guaranteed to face competition from Manchester United, who has always been keen on bringing back Ronaldo to Old Trafford, for a second spell at the club.
